What is the COP ?

“The acronym COP stands for” Conference of Parties. “The COPs were created and put in place to oversee the efforts of the countries that are Parties to the Convention to address climate change.This convention brings together all the countries of the world named “Parties”.

This conference is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which was signed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and came into force in 1994.

Through this instrument, the United Nations has adopted a framework of action to fight against global warming. “

 

Partnership UNESCO – Safe Water Cube

At the request of UNESCO, Jean-Paul Augereau spoke again on the UNESCO platform at COP 23 in Bonn (Germany) on November 13, 2017.

His presentation focused on water and sanitation on the African continent. He explained the issues of Safe Water Cube concerning migrations of rural populations to cities and the primary role of Safe Water Cube to bring drinking water to the people.
